Six Senses is making inroads into Australia, announcing plans to open the Six Senses Burnham Beeches in 2025.

The 54-acre resort will be situated within Victoria’s forested Dandenong Ranges, approximately 25 miles outside of Melbourne. The site is currently home to a 1930s estate known as Burnham Beeches. The estate is anchored by a three-story art deco mansion that will serve as the property’s centerpiece.

The Six Senses Burnham Beeches will make its debut with 43 guestrooms, a welcome lounge and terrace, a restaurant with outdoor seating, a library bar and a rooftop area. The majority of the resort’s accommodations will be spread across the mansion, with a separate two-bedroom cottage and interconnecting one-bedroom suite also available.

The property eventually plans to add a glamping product, which will grow its total room count to 82.

Other highlights are a farm and herb gardens, a children’s playground and a Six Senses spa featuring a lounge and boutique, tea lounge, treatment rooms, a gym, a hydro area and a sauna.

Six Senses, an IHG Hotels & Resorts brand, has been in expansion mode. Six Senses has detailed plans for a Swiss ski resort, an ecolodge in Zimbabwe and a resort on Grand Bahama in recent months.

Six Senses currently has 20 luxury hotels and resorts in its portfolio.
