Snowstang bus service from the metro area to five ski areas resumes this weekend with an additional destination — Breckenridge Resort — and an additional stop in Golden.

CDOT inaugurated Snowstang in 2019 with service to Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Steamboat Springs. It was suspended the following season due to COVID-19 concerns, but resumed last winter with the addition of Copper Mountain. This will mark the first winter with service to Breckenridge.

Starting Saturday, Snowstang will operate on weekends through May 17, with the exception of Dec. 25, and there will be additional service on President’s Day and Martin Luther King Day.

Trips originate at Union Station with stops at RTD’s Federal Center station in Lakewood and the new Golden stop at the Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride, which is at the Morrison exit on I-70.

Seats must be purchased online in advance. Roundtrip fares to Loveland, A-Basin, Breckenridge and Copper are $25. The roundtrip fare to Steamboat is $40. Busses to Steamboat are scheduled to depart at 5:35 a.m., followed by Breckenridge (6:05 a.m.), Arapahoe Basin (6:15 a.m.), Copper Mountain (6:25 a.m.) and Loveland (6:35 a.m.).
