According to a study from Leap Local, more than 40 percent of tourists suffer from some kind of motion sickness when they travel.<\/p>\n
Motion sickness can leave tourists feeling unwell and lose them valuable holiday time in their destination.<\/p>\n
Symptoms can include dizziness, feeling tired, headache, nausea, vomiting, burping or sweating.<\/p>\n
Although motion sickness is fairly common on cruises and buses, many travellers also suffer from the illness on planes.<\/p>\n
However, a travel expert from Leap Local has shared their tips to avoid suffering from motion sickness on flights. <\/p>\n

The expert said: “The seats over the wing generally experience the least amount of motion. Try to book these seats when possible.”<\/p>\n
Passengers can pay extra to choose their plane seat which could be worth it if they suffer from motion sickness.<\/p>\n

Dehydration can make you more susceptible to motion sickness.”<\/p>\n It’s really important to stay hydrated on a plane journey, particularly if it’s a long haul flight. Tourists can ask the flight attendants for water if they don’t have their own.<\/p>\n However, it’s a good idea to bring a reusable water bottle which passengers can fill up at water fountains after passing through airport security.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The expert added: “While you don’t want to eat too much, having a little food in your stomach can help you feel better.”<\/p>\n It’s important to eat the right food before a flight and passengers should try to avoid alcohol before flying.<\/p>\n Fast food could also make passengers feel unwell and tourists should bring their own food if they’re worried airline food could make them nauseous.<\/p>\n
