Over the years, pickpocketing has become more sophisticated and travellers could even be targeted through their phone.<\/p>\n
A Reddit user \u2018samsoul0013\u2019 has shared a warning for tourists travelling to Paris this summer.<\/p>\n
They said: \u201cIf you have a bag, a good pickpocket can use a cutter or cut your bag in such a smooth way, you won\u2019t even notice your handbag disappeared.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pickpockets could use a cutter to steal from a tourist\u2019s bag while they\u2019re distracted at an attraction.<\/p>\n
The Reddit user said tourists need to be \u201cattentive of the people around you in crowded places\u201d including at the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and in famous parks.<\/p>\n

They also issued a warning over \u201csmall groups\u201d of thieves working together. They said one thief will distract a tourist with a fake charity petition.<\/p>\n
While the tourist is listening to the thief, other pickpockets will steal from their pockets or luggage.<\/p>\n
But while tourists will need to take care on European holidays this year, they also need to be careful on staycations.<\/p>\n
