Intrepid Travel has been named to the Time100 Most Influential Companies list for 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The adventure tour operator was recognized as a leader in responsible tourism and for its work toward advancing sustainable travel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Time noted the company’s achievement as the “first global tour operator to establish verified, science-based carbon-reduction targets” and its record-breaking booking days after launching a flight-free program, along with more than 100 Indigenous-led tours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Founded in 1989, Intrepid is the only tour operator on the list. Disney made the list and so did two aviation companies: Eviation Aircraft and ZeroAvia.<\/p>\n
“This honor is a testament to the power of travel. Not only does exploring the world provide thought-provoking, incredible, fun experiences — it also has the power to transform our world and create more resilient communities,” said James Thornton, CEO of Intrepid Travel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Thornton added that the Time100 recognition “proves that our style of locally led small-group adventures is no longer a ‘niche’.
