Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands is ending its affiliation with Marriott International’s Autograph Collection on Aug. 1.

The private-island resort has been in the Autograph Collection for 11 years.

The change comes as Scrub Island is in the midst of an $8 million upgrade. Recent enhancements include the addition of the new Marina Cay Bar & Grill culinary (located just offshore on a nearby private island) and an upgraded boutique. Other updates are planned, such as additional dining upgrades and the rollout of new furnishings in select accommodations.

The full refresh is expected to be completed by spring 2024.

Scrub Island, which is accessible via water taxi from Tortola, has 52 rooms and suites and 13 villas, two private beaches, a waterfront infinity pool, a spa and a 55-slip marina.
