G Adventures has added two new National Geographic Family Journeys in Italy and Tanzania.

The eight-day Tanzania Family Journey: A Serengeti Safari will take families on game drives in the Serengeti throughout the tour. Families will also experience the village of Mto wa Mbu, which will include a visit to a community tourism project. There they’ll be shown the techniques used to create art from banana leaves, while also making artworks of their own.

The roundtrip tour from Arusha, Tanzania, starts at $4,999 per person.

In Italy, the eight-day Italy Family Journey: Venice to Rome will include lessons in Venetian mask-making, pasta-making classes in Florence and a gladiator “training session” in Rome.

On this itinerary, families can also look forward to exploring ancient ruins in Rome and seeing the works of Michelangelo up close in the Accademia Gallery in Florence. Prices begin at $3,499 per person.

The addition of the new itineraries comes as the company says it has seen heightened demand for multigenerational trips in 2023, with a 106% increase in bookings year-over-year for family travel.
