Cruise guests warned to be ‘especially careful’ when choosing a cabin
Cruise guests have been warned to be “especially careful” choosing their cabin so as not to make a mistake.
From multi-level penthouse suites to interior cabins, cruise guests have a lot of rooms to choose from when they book.
Although some cruise lines will let guests pick their cabins when they book, this may come with an extra charge.
A cruise guest has issued a warning for passengers to be “especially careful” when choosing a cabin.
‘Cruzinagain’ wrote on Reddit: “Also look carefully at the deck plans to make sure that there are cabins on both sides of you and above and below.

“Be especially careful you are not right below the pool deck. Lots of deck chair noises can drive you crazy, especially early in the morning.”
The pool deck might seem like a safer option than the ship’s nightclub, but staff usually set up for the day very early.
Guests with rooms below the swimming pool could find they’re woken in the early hours by the sound of scraping deckchairs.

Passengers will also need to choose carefully if they are prone to getting nausea or seasickness.
Reddit user ‘mike07646’ said: “If you are prone to seasickness, then try for a cabin midship as motion would be [felt less] there.”
However, another guest recommended choosing a cruise cabin away from the middle of the ship.
Reddit user ‘Callec254’ said: “I personally prefer further towards either end of the ship instead of the middle, makes us walk more, and less foot traffic passing by the room.”
Guests with cabins at the end of the ship will have further to walk to reach the ship’s elevators.
Cabins close to the elevators could be noisy as there will be a lot of foot traffic at all hours of the night.
