Celebrity chefs gather for Baha Mar's Bahamas Culinary and Arts Fest

Following last year’s debut, Baha Mar in Nassau will host its second Bahamas Culinary and Arts Festival from Oct. 27 to 29.

Details of the event are still being worked out, but tastings and dinners hosted by top chefs will be among the highlights of the three-day festival. Chefs who will participate include Marcus Samuelsson of Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House, Katsuya Uechi of Katsuya and Dario Cecchini of Carna. The Baha Mar chefs will be joined by Bahamian celebrity chef Simeon Hall Jr. as well as Food Network celebrity chefs Amanda Freitag, Carla Hall, Geoffrey Zakarian, Scott Conant and Michelle Bernstein and chef/social media influencer Eitan Bernath. Also in attendance will be spirits expert and author Noah Rothbaum and wine experts Ted Diamantis, Fernando Beteta and Ken Fredrickson.

The festival opens with the Welcome Beach Party Powered by SLS Baha Mar, which will bring SLS chefs together with Samuelsson for an epicurean experience.  Throughout the weekend, resident and guest chefs will host a series of Master Classes.

The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival will also bring back the two-day expo on Oct. 28 and 29, where guests can enjoy live entertainment and Bahamian hospitality with onstage chef demos from chefs Carla Hall, Geoffrey Zakarian, Scott Conant and others.

Also featured at the festival is the Fuze Art Expo, a showcase of art created by Caribbean artists and featuring island themes. Fuze will showcase a collection of artwork from seven different Caribbean nations, and feature multi-disciplinary creative programming including artist-led panel discussions, guided tours, live printmaking demonstrations, and a specially curated film series. The expo is under the direction of John Cox, executive director of art and culture at Baha Mar.

Weekend passes for the Bahamas Culinary and Arts Festival start at $599. Additional information and events will be announced in the coming weeks, including culinary activities hosted by Baha Mar chefs.
