Breeze Airways brings commercial service to San Bernardino: Travel Weekly
San Bernardino Airport in Southern California’s Inland Empire has begun offering commercial airline service.
Low-cost operator Breeze Airways launched daily service Thursday between San Bernardino and San Francisco, with continuing service onto Breeze’s hometown of Provo, Utah.
The first flight into San Bernardino Airport, which goes by the code SBD, arrived at 12:01 p.m. local time, according to flight tracker FlightAware. Breeze’s first departure out of San Bernardino was slated for 1:56 p.m.

“Today, we start a new chapter in SBD’s history and future possibilities, as we finally achieve our long-held goal of delivering safe, convenient, affordable airline service options to our residents,” said Frank Navarro, president of the SBD Commission.
San Bernardino Airport is 22 miles east of Ontario Airport and significantly further distances from main Southern California airports LAX and Orange County.
The airport is marketing itself as a convenient option for people who live in the San Bernardino area.
“Now you can skip the drive to other airports,” its website reads.
