You can fly JetBlue to Heathrow through October

JetBlue will continue to serve London Heathrow airport daily through at least next October.

The announcement, made by the carrier Tuesday, followed JetBlue’s attainment of landing rights at capacity constrained Heathrow through that time.

JetBlue began servicing Heathrow from New York JFK in August using landing rights, which are also called slots, that had become temporarily available when entrenched airlines at Heathrow reduced service due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Those slot rights had been set to expire on March 26.

Tickets for JetBlue’s extended JFK-Heathrow schedule are now on sale. But the carrier has yet to obtain long-term landing rights at London’s biggest airport.

Both JetBlue and Heathrow say they are working to make that happen.

“More competition and choice between airlines delivers even better value for passengers at Heathrow which is why we will continue to support JetBlue’s long-term future at the U.K.’s hub airport,” Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye said in a prepared remark.

JetBlue’s transatlantic launch this year also included a daily flight from JFK to London Gatwick. The carrier plans to launch Boston-London service next summer, but it has not said which London airport it will serve from Beantown.
