Airbnb host slammed for renting backseats of old car for £83 a night
An Airbnb listing offering the chance to rent the backseat of an old car for nearly $100 (£83) a night has been slammed online.
The 2011 Toyota Sienna is located in California, USA and can be rented out for one night or long-term stays of 28 days or more.
However, the screenshots shared on Twitter by user Aizehinomo suggest that the host hasn’t had any takers as there are no reviews yet.

The listing states that there are no amenities included in the stay, including no access to the kitchen, heating or air-conditioning, WiFi, or ‘essentials’.
The tweet, which has been liked more than 101,000 times, and shared 11,300 times, reads: “I know times are tough, but someone is trying to Airbnb a 2011 Toyota Sienna for $100 USD per night.”
In a series of follow-up tweets, she added: “It’s not a camper or an RV nor is there a bedroom or a bathroom.
“Who do they think is going to stay long-term (30+ days) in a minivan?! That’s $3,000! You could rent a 2 bedroom home at that rate.
“If you have $100 dollars per night to spend, why would you choose to sleep on the folded-down back seats of a suburban mom mobile? I’m befuddled.
“Amenities? Literally none! I was wondering if they would at least let guests use the bathroom or shower inside the house of the driveway where the minivan is parked, but it doesn’t mention that.”

Defending the advert, one person said: “Somebody needs it. They’ll pay for it too. Don’t knock somebody’s hustle just because you aren’t their customer lol”
One user said: “I stayed in a tent in someone’s backyard through Airbnb one time!”
Another joked: “let me turn my two-car garage into a guest house then”.
“Desperate times call for desperate measures” a fourth added.
Daily Star has contacted Airbnb for comment.
