Travel list requirements have constrained Brits’ much-anticipated summer holidays this year by introducing a three-tiered system. Previously, people could only travel relatively friction-free to green list destinations, but this has now changed. In a statement to Parliament, transport secretary Grant Shapps has changed the requirements for visiting amber countries.

Can you travel to an amber country?

Travel to amber countries is not presently illegal, just ill-advised.

Current Government guidance states people should not travel to nations on the list.

Amber countries come with a higher risk of Covid transmission, but soon people will have the opportunity to travel there freely, according to travel minister Grant Shapps.
