Flight attendant says the ‘worst passenger’ ended up ‘restrained’ by the crew

Flight attendant Joaquin, who has been based in London Gatwick Airport for years, exclusively shared with Express.co.uk the “weirdest and most uncomfortable situation” he has ever had on the plane.

He once had a passenger who was very “concerned” because the people sitting next to her were watching “adult films”.

“She asked if I could ‘say something’. I approached them and in fact, they were watching an adult film. I simply told them ‘Do you mind?’

“They saw my face and that was enough for them to apologise and turn it off. They later told me that they actually worked in the industry.”

When talking about the “worst passenger” he has ever had on board, Joaquin explained that the “most difficult” flights are always going or coming back from Ibiza.

“We were coming back to London from Ibiza and a passenger started shouting during boarding saying that we had to hurry up or otherwise were going to be late.”

The situation escalated to the point the crew had to “restrain her”. During the food service, the woman “kept complaining about the price of the beers”.

“She kept moaning and being rude to us saying that she didn’t want to pay for it. After I calmed her down, she fell asleep.

“But she kept complaining until she left the plane… Clearly, the last night in Ibiza took its toll on her. “

On Reddit, a flight attendant named Amanda explained that the worst passenger for her was a lady who “dramatically insisted that she be allowed to freely roam the aisles, even during takeoff/landing, because she was claustrophobic”.

“She also demanded free drinks and was absolutely appalled when I had to cut her off after her sixth. This was on a four-hour flight that she claimed she took regularly.”

Another crew member said she had a man “who probably hadn’t showered in a week, and the plane smelled rancid until they turned on the AC”.

She continued: “Once we took off, the man — who was wearing sandals — put his bare feet on the armrests in between the seats in front of him. Long, disgusting toenails included. A flight attendant saw him and told him he couldn’t do that.

“When the passenger in front of him put her seat back to sleep (it was a nine-hour flight where everyone was doing the same), he started pushing repeatedly on the back of her seat.

“Luckily, the girl stood her ground and didn’t put her seat back up. I don’t know what is wrong with some people.”
