Flight attendants ‘immediately hate’ passengers who cut toenails or get drunk

When flying there are lots of things that fellow passengers do that annoy us. Reclining at the wrong moment, snoring and even putting their feet on our armrests are all irritating.

But, did you know that some behaviours also make our flight attendants furious? In fact, some of the behaviour even makes them take their revenge as they "immediately hate" a passenger for doing them.

According to one cabin crew member, some of them do this by crop-dusting holidaymakers. For those who don’t know, that’s when you pass gas while standing next to someone and then walk away.

So, it’s best to avoid these frowned upon behaviours so you don’t get a disgusting surprise. Or, just because you want to be an amenable passenger.

Don't get drunk

One cabin crew worker said: "Drunk People. All drunk people after take-off are horrible, until they pass out. Then they just smell."

Someone replied to her: "Never understood why people choose to drink when they're trapped with no where to go, and not much to do for several hours, thousands of feet up in the air, crammed in next to complete strangers."

While another worker claimed it would be better if "they administered a breathalyser test before letting you board and didn't let the inebriated on and they didn't sell alcohol on the plane".

Cutting nails or toenails

One cabin crew member of over 20 years said: "My number one pet peeve is cutting your nails or toenails on the plane. I can hear that s*** from back in the galley even if you're in row two that's the most disgusting f***ing thing in the world to do on a plane."

Don't try to join the Mile High Club

The same veteran attendant noted: "The other one is trying to get your mile high club wings. People don't know how disgusting that bathroom is when people pee all over everything in there. In turbulence that wetness on the floor is not from the sink trust me."

But, that’s not all as some flight attendants outside of the social media platform shared their bug bears too.

Ordering fizzy drinks

Jet, a member of the cabin crew who writes a blog about her time on planes, explained: "Soft drinks foam up a lot more when poured out of a can – I literally have to sit and wait for the bubbles to fall before I can continue pouring.

"If all three passengers ask for fizzy drinks, I'll often get them started, take another three drink orders, serve those, and then finish them."

Wandering around the plane

Madeline Forsyth, a former flight attendant, told Narcity that she hates it when passengers decide to relax in the galley. She explained: "It's okay to stand up and stretch, especially during long flights, but if you're loitering in the galley area for long periods of time, it will make things difficult for the flight attendants."

Having an attitude

Kajal Manhas, 26, from India, spoke about her life at 35,000ft and said there are a number of things you avoid doing on a plane. Kajal added: "I don’t like people not keeping their bags [nearby], standing while boarding, demanding things that are not even a part of the ticket.

"And throwing attitude… especially [those] who are mannerless."
