‘Incredibly beautiful’ seaside town crowned best in Wales – full list
Although it’s almost the end of summer, there’s still time to spend the day at a beautiful British seaside town. New research has crowned the best seaside town in Wales.
A new study from the holiday experts at Simply Sea Views has named the country’s best seaside town by analysing TikTok views.
According to the research, Tenby in Pembrokeshire in southwest Wales is the country’s most popular seaside town. The pretty town caught attention when Wally the Walrus visited in 2021.
Josh Walker, at Simply Sea Views, said: “Once Wally the Walrus put Tenby on the map it was only a matter of time before everyone realised what a beautiful place Tenby is, and for budding travel influencers without the budget or the inclination to jump on a long haul flight Tenby really is the perfect place to explore right here in the UK.
“With its brightly coloured pastel buildings curving around the walls, visitors to Tenby are spoiled by not just one but three exceptional white sand beaches and its craggy pirate island jutting out of the sand.

“On shore you’ve got the dramatic castle walls, winding lanes and old-fashioned sailors’ pubs, the whole town could be a movie set!”
The town’s best rated beach on Tripadvisor is Tenby Castle Beach. The cliff-backed sandy beach has views of the ancient ruins of Tenby Castle.
A tourist ‘Anne Williams’ wrote on the review platform: “Wow, what an incredibly beautiful place..we will be back! The views are fantastic, a lovely family friendly day out. Can’t wait for next time.”
Another visitor ‘Indigoflower’ said: “A treasure. Beyond beautiful on a sunny day. Tenby was a total gem to come upon. Beautiful place and beaches, lovely place to stroll, have a coffee and relax.”
Tenby Castle Beach can disappear altogether at high tide so make sure to check the times before visiting.

Tourists looking for a larger beach might prefer North Beach, which is also the town’s top spot for watersports. Tenby also sits on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which offers stunning sea views.
For a unique experience, tourists could join a Tenby Ghost Walk to learn more about some of the town’s mysterious history.
It wouldn’t be a day at the seaside without an ice-cream and luckily Tenby has several top-rated cafes to choose from.
