Inside the real castle used for Nevermore Academy in Netflix’s Wednesday

Addams family fans can visit one of the places where hit Netflix show Wednesday was filmed.

Anyone who’s recently got stuck into the trending TV show full of witches, werewolves and hydes will be desperate for more.

The show is based on the classic Addams family and follows the now teenaged Wednesday as she hunts down a murderous beast at Nevermore Academy.

But, while we’re waiting for the iconic Wednesday – played by the talented Jenna Ortega – to return for season two you could travel to one of the filming locations.

The exterior shots of the gorgeous boarding school Nevermore Academy were actually shot of a real building.

According to NME, the Tim Burton series was shot in Romania and Nevermore is actually Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, Romania.

The gorgeous castle is open to the public and was once the residence of Prince Grigore Cantacuzino.

It was built in 1911 and was used to create the creepy setting of the hit Netflix show.

Emma Myers, who plays Enid Sinclair in Wednesday noted: “There were these really cool swings on the outside of the castle that a lot of us went to play on between [takes].

“I definitely tried to sneak off several times to snoop around but unfortunately I didn’t get very far…”

But, that doesn’t mean you can’t get a better look!

It costs visiting adults between 35lei and 55lei (that’s £6.14 to £9.65) to gain access to the castle.

While there you can explore the Hall of Honour which has large archways, paintings on leather that adorn the walls and gothic doorways.

There are grandiose marble staircases so you will feel like a Nevermore student as you go exploring.

Plus, outside the residence is the grotto – a cave located at the base of a hill which will make you wary of approaching monsters.

Anyone who is a true Wednesday fanatic can even choose to stay at the castle overnight.

Vila Castel Cantacuzino features mountain views and is located in the garden on the main castle.

It has a garden, terrace, bar and restaurant as well as its own living room.

According to booking.com: “Popular points of interest near the villa include Cantacuzino Castle, Fun Park Kalinderu and Telegondola.

“Free access to Cantacuzino Castle is included in the price. This is our guests' favourite part of Buşteni, according to independent reviews.”

A stay at the villa will set you back from £126 per night; booking.com.
