Jet2 is a popular, affordable British airline that plenty of people fly with every year, but the airline has suspended its flights until June 24, 2021. With most of us desperate to fly somewhere hot for a summer holiday, it’s time to start thinking about booking flights… but is Jet2 taking bookings yet? Express.co.uk contacted Jet2 to find out everything you need to know.
Is Jet2 taking bookings?
Yes, Jet2 is currently taking bookings for flights after June 23, 2021.
A spokesperson for the airline said: “Of course customers can book flights and holidays and they are continuing to do so, knowing that we will look after them no matter what happens.
“Following the recent update from the Global Travel Taskforce, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have taken the decision to extend the suspension of flights and holidays up to and including June 23, 2021.
“As the UK’s leading tour operator to destinations across the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, we are continuing to see demand for our ATOL protected package holidays as well as confidence from holidaymakers who want nothing more than to get away on their well-deserved holidays.”
It isn’t 100 percent certain that holidays after June 23 will go ahead, as this is down to the Government’s restrictions.
Jet2 has said: “We look forward to clarity from the UK Government so that we can get flying again.”
Customers who booked flights praised the airline for prompt refunds, and more than £1.3 billion was refunded by Jet2 to customers whose plans were affected by the pandemic.
Jet2 said it will continue this “customer-first approach” and will “refund customers if they want their money back” instead of a refund credit note.
