More than 410,000 travelers to pass through Denver airport Labor Day 2023

Denver International Airport, among the busiest airports in the world, will be extremely busy this Labor Day Weekend.

From Thursday through Tuesday, more than 410,000 passengers are expected to pass through Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at the airport, according to a DIA news release.

Friday and Monday will likely be the busiest days at the bustling facility with more than 78,000 travelers expected each day, a 6.2% projected increase from the same period in 2022.

People flying should plan for plenty of time to get through security checks and to navigate the crowded airport. Passengers are advised to arrive inside the airport at least two hours before their scheduled boarding time and to be prepared for long lines.

There are four new TSA PreCheck lanes available near the south TSA checkpoint. The lanes are open from 4 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and located on the northside of the South TSA checkpoint, near baggage claim 7, the release said.

For real-time security wait times and to help select the best checkpoint, passengers can check FlyDenver.com. All DIA on-site parking lots are open except valet parking in both garages and a portion of the East Economy Lot. Learn more about all of DIA’s parking options and see real-time parking availability flydenver.com/parking_transit/parking.

The Denver Police Department will increase airport patrols over the holiday weekend. People parking at DIA are asked to be vigilant about suspicious activity, as parking areas have been hotspots for thefts. Travelers can call immediately 303-342-4211 to report incidents and crime.
