Sun-soaked party town has 24-hour raves, amazing beaches and 30C January weather

January isn't exactly a month you'd associate with partying, as most people are staying away from indulgence following Christmas. However, for those who are looking to kick off 2024 in style, there's one party town that needs to be on your radar.

Cancun in Mexico is often hailed as one of the best party resorts in the world, and with good reason. In the daytime you can expect Vegas-style pool parties at the beach clubs and resorts, 24-hour raves and bars hosting world-famous DJs.

Come nighttime, head down to the Strip a stone's throw from heaps of all-inclusive hotels and you'll find hundreds of bars and clubs, all offering happy hour deals, themed nights and non-stop parties. Highlights include the likes of the world-famous Coco Bongo where you can expect a mix of performers, DJs, epic shows and heaps more wild surprises all within just a few hours.

Meanwhile Mandala Cancun never fails to be a hit thanks to the epic DJ sets, while the table service often tends to be popular with visitors looking for a night to remember.

While you can find clubs where you'll need to spend a lot to get a table for the night, most of Cancun's bars have budget-friendly options, with most pints of beer coming in at under £2 (especially if you're sticking to local brands). There are also countless happy hour offers to be found throughout the night.

For the morning after, Cancun's gorgeous beaches can be just the place to relax and recuperate. Think palm-fringed shores with soft white sands, and crystal-clear waters that are ideal for swimming, snorkelling or enjoying a whole array of water sports. Many of the hotels have direct access to the beaches, as well as poolside service if you don't want to move from your lounger.

Adventurers who don't fancy spending entire days on the beach won't be disappointed as there's heaps to explore in Cancun too. For example you can book day trips to the incredible Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, or take a dive into one of the countless Cenotes that are dotted throughout the dense green jungle. You'll also find plenty of adrenaline-inducing activities in the region including ziplines and quad biking, if you're feeling up to it.

Getting to Cancun is easy too, as you can get direct flights from the UK which take approximately 10-11 hours. Because it's such a popular destination, you won't struggle to find holiday firms offering all-inclusive holidays including TUI, Virgin Holidays, Loveholidays and British Airways.

Of course Cancun isn't the only winter hotspot that offers up a brilliant nightlife. There's one sun-soaked country that's reported to have the cheapest beer in the world and 33C weather in winter; Vietnam. For example, in Hanoi you can find draught lager for as little as 16p a glass – and large bottles tend to be less than a quid too. What's more, the city is less than three hours away from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay, where you can go kayaking and swimming in the bright blue waters during a day trip or let the gentle waves rock you to sleep during a cruise instead.
