The best adults-only hotels and resorts in Europe
Load Error
With travel slowly reopening, it’s time to start thinking about your next vacation — whenever that may be. Whether you’d like to leave the kids at home, take a romantic getaway with your partner or sip cocktails beachfront with your friends, adults-only resorts are a great way to relax and rejuvenate without the squeals and splashes that come along with taking the kids to the pool.
It’s important to note that all-inclusive is not simultaneous with adults-only, especially in Europe. While there are a few options on this list that offer all-inclusive options, adults-only simply means that young children aren’t allowed at the hotel or resort, whether it be a massive international brand or a small boutique spot.

If you plan to travel with older teens, make sure to check the age requirements before staying. Some adults-only hotels allow 12, 16, or 18+, while some require 21+.
Whether you plan to sprawl out on a pool chair in Greece next to friends or snuggle up in a cabin with your honey in Finland, here are some of TPG’s favorite adults-only hotels and resorts in Europe.
1. Thalassa Beach Resort, Crete, Greece
This 16+ resort in Crete has sexy adult amenities like a swim-up bar, relaxing spa, cooking classes, beach yoga and even an art gallery. All rooms and suites at the Thalassa have airy terraces, and superior suites come with jacuzzis. Although the family-owned hotel has close to 100 guestrooms and suites, it still has an intimate, boutique feel.
Rates in June start at around $140 per night including breakfast (half board options are available at an added cost).
2. Casa Cook Rhodes, Greece
One of the boho-chic, 16+ hotels that somehow survived when Thomas Cook went under, Casa Cook in Rhodes is perfect for groups of friends looking for lazy days in the sunshine and poolside yoga or couples wanting to enjoy off-beat, intimate activities, like private sailing in the Aegean or secluded hikes. Here, you’ll fill your Instagram feed with sleek shots of fringed, poolside hammocks and farm-to-table Greek cuisine.
Rates in June start around $300 per night including breakfast.
3. AluaSoul Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza is already a destination that caters to adults, and you’ll find many adults-only properties on the island, including the famed party hotel, Ushuaïa. But given that COVID-19 has put a slight damper on massive, crowded parties, we found AluaSoul to be a much more alluring adults-only option. The all-inclusive, 16+ hotel mixes relaxation with fun, apt for either couples or groups. From the all-white guestrooms with brushed wood details and the massive pool with Balinese beds, AluaSoul is the ideal spot for a grown-up Ibiceno getaway.
All-inclusive options start around $200 per night for two in June.
4. RedLevel at Palacio Isora Melia, Tenerife, Spain
The RedLevel at Palacio Isora is an adults-only boutique hotel within a larger resort, part of the Palacio Isora Melia on the island of Tenerife in Spain. With special adults-only pools, a Clarins Spa and a RedLevel Lounge just for adults, this is a great hideaway if you need a break from the kids. The RedLevel experience is also sort of like having elite status perks, as you get additional amenities such as an in-room Nespresso machine, flexible check-in/check-out, free ironing of one garment, free drinks and snacks and more.
June rates start at $300 per night including breakfast (half and full board options are also available at an additional cost).
5. Hotel Pleta de Mar, Mallorca, Spain
The Hotel Pleta de Mar is a stunning, five-star property flanked by verdant pines with its very own path down to a private beach in Balearic island Mallorca. The all-suite property features two infinity pools, the Sa Pleta restaurant with a quaint outdoor patio and an outdoor fitness area set among a canopy of trees. Even the most “basic” suites include a private garden and hydromassage tub.
June rates start at $1,000 per night.
6. Tiara Yaktsa Côte d’Azur, France
The French Rivieria is already the perfect adult destination. The high-end Tiara Yaktsa, an intimate boutique hotel with opulent sea view rooms is the ideal hotel from which to enjoy the area, as it overlooks the glittering Mediterranean Sea. The rooftop suites are especially gorgeous, complete with large, sea view terraces and jacuzzis. The infinity pool and gardens are also apt for adult seaside relaxation.
June rates start at $480 per night.
7. Vila Gale Collection Praia, Portugal
The Vila Gale Praia is an ages 16+ boutique hotel located on the Algarve coast. Its 40 rooms are fairly standard, but the pool is quiet, peaceful and perfect for a tranquil adult escape. The hotel is located just across the street from the Algarve’s golden sand beaches. You can also enjoy a treatment at the Satsanga Spa or use the tennis courts.

11. Casa Angelina, Praiano, Italy
Part of the Small Luxury Hotels program (you can book with Hyatt points!), Casa Angelina is located in one of Italy’s most coveted and romantic locations: the Amalfi coast. June rates start at $225 per night and include breakfast, as well as free use of toboggans, forest skis and snowshoes (weather permitting), plus a warm winter clothing set if necessary.
15. The Old Convent, Ireland
The Old Convent, which reopens June 4, is for those looking for an adults-only getaway to the Irish countryside. The elegant manor house is located at the base of the Knockmealdown Mountains in County Tipperary. Each of the guestrooms is unique and different from the others, but all rooms feature Rituals amenities. Besides exploring the nearby rolling Irish hills, you can enjoy seasonal eight-course Irish tasting menus at the on-site restaurant, Dermots.
The hotel is currently booked through most of summer, but keep an eye out for cancellations. Rates start around $210 per night.
16. Sepp Alpine Boutique Hotel, Austria
The Sepp is a 21+ alpine hotel close to the German border in Austria. Apt for groups of friends, couples or even solo travellers, the hotel has rooms that range from affordable and cosy to luxury (we love the freestanding tubs in this room category). The rooftop is the ultimate hangout, with a vintage airstream trailer serving up drinks to a pool, all to the background of the Austrian Alps.
June room rates start at just $130 per night for the smallest room category, cozy.
Bottom line
Whether it’s a solo trip to the Austrian Alps, a boozy weekend with friends to Ibiza, a romantic honeymoon to an Italian spa hotel or a sunny Portuguese getaway to a beachfront resort, there’s a hotel on this list for every adult traveler.
