A new study by Bounce ranked destinations based on several factors. Countries were analysed on the number of female victims of homicide, overall safety, percentage of women who feel safe at night and laws on domestic violence.

Ireland was named as the safest country in the world for women travelling alone. The Emerald Isle has laws in place to protect women from violence.
Ireland has many incredible attractions for visitors and its capital Dublin has a vibrant nightlife scene.
Tourists in Dublin can enjoy the traditional pubs at Temple Bar and explore the city’s history.
Ireland is also renowned for its gorgeous natural scenery and its coastline is one of Europe’s most stunning.
Many tourists choose to do the Atlantic Drive to admire some of Ireland’s coastal landscapes.
One visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: “Great views, dramatic coastline. Highly recommended for spectacular scenery and photo ops.”
Austria was ranked as the second safest country for women travelling alone. The European country topped the rankings when it came to safety at night.
Almost 80 percent of women felt safe walking alone at night in Austria, a good sign for women travellers.
Austria’s capital city, Vienna, has a rich history and many impressive cultural landmarks to explore.
The city is known as the ‘City of Music’ as many famous musicians called it home during their lifetime.
Both Beethoven and Mozart lived in the city and many tourists visit to enjoy a concert in the beautiful capital.
Vienna is also renowned for its cafe culture and a trip to the city isn’t complete without a slice of Sachertorte.
Norway took third place on the list and has a very low female homicide rate compared to other destinations.
However, prices are high in the Scandinavian country and Britons may have to pay as much as £10 for a pint.
Slovenia and Switzerland also made the top five and both enchanting countries have a low crime rate.
Canada was the only non-European country to make the list and has the lowest rate of domestic violence.
