Heading to a National Park during a staycation trip promises beautiful surroundings, outdoors activities and hiking aplenty. But a new study by Daffodil Hotel looked at another important part of any holidays: food and drinks.

Crunching the data and taking into account Michelin Star restaurants, distilleries, bars and pubs in the 13 National Parks, the study came up with the best place to go to for a foodie and boozy staycation.

Coming top was the Lake District.

With over 1000 restaurants, the Lakes was a clear winner.

There are 20 Michelin star restaurants in the National Park too, which means a luxurious foodie break is a very real possibility in the Lakes.

There are also nine breweries/distilleries in the Lakes, and 23 pubs and bars.

In second place was the Peak District.

With 364 restaurants, 12 of which are Michelin Star rated, and nine breweries and distilleries, the Peak is a fantastic foodie destination.

In third place was South Downs.

For a drink, Britons should head to South Downs.

There are 45 “boozy” experiences in the National Park, and 42 bars and pubs.

If only looking at food, the best National Park was still the Lake District.

In second place is North York Moors and in third place was the Peak District.

North York Moors has 571 restaurants and 15 Michelin star rated establishments.
