A tourist in Japan was “pressed by Japanese police’ over his “inappropriate outfit” in public.
Turan William Salis, from Australia, is travelling around Japan and posting his experiences to his social media accounts.
One of these interactions included an exchange with a police officer in what appears to be a grocery store.

Turan, known as ShearingShedVlogs on TikTok, said he had been to the beach and was walking around outside before the officer stopped him.
The social media content creator was live streaming at the time and revealed that he had been allowed to continue the stream after handing over his passport.
Using the voice recording feature on Google Translate, the officer said: “I would like to talk to you now.
“Were you walking around with your upper body naked?”
Turan replied: “Yes, without the shirt, without the shirt yes. Shorts yes but without this on [pointing at his vest top].
“I came from the beach, I had been swimming.”
The officer explained: “You are not allowed to be naked above the waste in the town”.
Turan immediately apologised, claiming he was not aware of this law and reassured the officer he was only topless because he had been swimming.
The clip, which has been viewed more than 5.4million times, generated a mixed response as some people claimed that public indecency laws are common in many places.
One said: “They stopped my husband and made him put his shirt back on even though he had taken it off to help a bleeding woman.”

“That’s a wonderful interaction. Language barrier but so respectful,” praised another user.
Another commented: “Amazing how useful phones can be for stuff like this”
Responding to the comments about the app, the original poster added: “I would not have understood him otherwise if he spoke Japanese to me”.
