In a stay that's fit for royalty, you can now book a holiday at one of the late Queen's homes, on Airbnb.

No, we're not talking about those huge castles and palaces – but it is a "charming hideaway" on the Sandringham Estate, where the Royal Family famously spend Christmas.

The gorgeous property is actually the head gardener's home – and it comes with furnishings from the Royal Collection.

You can sleep up to eight people in the house, which is tucked away on the 8,000 hectare estate.

Amanda Cupples, general manager for Northern Europe at Airbnb, said: "We are delighted that the Garden House on Her Majesty The Queen's Sandringham Estate is now available to book on Airbnb.

"This picturesque cottage set in the grounds of one of the Queen's most beautiful estates is a perfect hideaway for guests looking for a truly unique stay, and hopefully they may even see a Corgi or two."

You can already book the cottage on Airbnb but it's unlikely you'll bump into any Royals.

It's not the only one of the Royal Family's estates to be opening up to the public looking for fun staycations.

Cottages on the Balmoral Estate also recently opened for bookings, and there are stays going from just £15 a night.

In fact, the Queen opened up eight of the quaint cottages on the estate before her passing.

The cheapest – the Colt Cottages – have prices starting from £555 and are for up to five people.

The cost is based on a week-long stay between January 7 to March 31, which works out at £79 per night for a family-of-five, or just £15.80 per person, per night.

That price does require two people to sleep on a slightly less regal sofa bed however.

Again, for those hoping to catch a glimpse of His Majesty, you'll be left disappointed; the cottages are not rented out when the Royal Family is in residence.
