GoBoat is offering a free trip for any groups who turn up to the docks with a dog in-tow.

The company lets you and up to eight friends sit back and relax while you’re driven around the canals of your local city to see the sights, enjoy a drink and how your pup a new way to travel.

The website states: “GoBoat is the fun self-drive boating experience. You are the captain, you choose the route.

“With no boating experience necessary, gain access to the unseen side of central London as you charter the waterways. Don’t forget to bring your picnic!

“Please note: GoBoat Paddington is an alcohol free-location. Each eco-friendly electric GoBoat can seat up to 8 people around a sociable picnic table.”

Anyone who takes their dog down to Paddington, Canary Wharf or Kingston upon Thames today, Friday August 26, will be given a free one-hour ride in the fun little boats.

You’re not allowed to borrow anyone else’s pooch, but if you don’t own a doc you can still get 10% off any weekday trips in August with the code, DOGSINBOATS, reports the Metro.

You don’t need to book or reserve a spot for your free ride with your dog – just show up and they’ll try and seat you.

Groups smaller than eight may need to share with other small groups and their furry friends.

On Facebook, GoBoat said: “To celebrate National Dog Day today we're giving away free 1-hour boat trips to anyone who turns up with their pooch.

“In addition we've also got our free Dog Water Taxi running from 12 noon – 2pm.

“Pick ups from Merchant Square near M&S café / Merchant Square screen; or outside Paddington tube (H&C exit). Look out for our GoBoat crew wearing a captains hat.

“A water bowl and dog treats are also on hand for our doggy visitors. Woof!”
