Australia’s insane new ‘after dark’ dessert bar
You’ll have to wait until Sydney’s lockdown is over, but a new bar in the Northern Beaches will be at the top of your must visit list — especially if you’re a sweet tooth.
Dubbed the Golly Gosh Cafe, this sweet treat delight completely changes after dark into a dessert bar in the evenings offering customers a wide selection of mouth-watering desserts.
The little cafe in Mona Vale, which is about 45 minutes from Sydney’s CBD, had a soft launch despite the current Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Offering takeaway items for the launch, including various desserts, fondues, ice cream cookies, milkshakes and hot beverages, the cafe will have their official big launch after the covid restrictions end.
Sharing most of the delicious treats on social media, some of the cafe’s menu highlights include items several variations of Belgium waffles topped with ice cream, some shaved with white or milk chocolate and a drizzle of Lotus Biscoff sauce.

But a highlight would have to be their warm Nutella Heaven Waffles, which will set you back $24 each.
According to the cafe’s menu, the most expensive dessert on the menu is the fondue family pack for $36. The massive shareable dessert includes a pot of warm Nutella, banana bread, marshmallows, fresh strawberries, banana, chocolate chip cookie bites and waffle dipping sticks.

In addition to the cafe being open for day time trade, Golly Gosh have also launched an incredible After Dark experience which the cafe says will “greatly assist us in keeping our staff employed but also assist the beaches in surviving the next two weeks of lock down” – meaning patrons can get their sugar fix for dinner too.
Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and the Wollongong region is currently under a lockdown health order by the NSW State Government amid an outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid-19.
The lockdown is set to ease on Friday, July 9.
