Margaritaville Island Reserve resort in Cancun to be for adults only: Travel Weekly

Margaritaville will have its first adults-only all-inclusive resort with the early 2023 opening of the Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico.

A joint venture between Karisma Hotels & Resorts and Margaritaville, the new resort will be the third Margaritaville Island Reserve property for the pair, joining the Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun in Puerto Morelos and the Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya will have 355 guestrooms, including higher-end categories like Beachfront Honeymoon Suites, which offer a living room and wraparound terrace. The Oceanfront Paradise Swim-Up Studio comprises a king-size bedroom, a living area and a decked terrace with an infinity pool.

Among the resort’s top-tier accommodations will be its Coral Reefer Signature Suite, featuring an outdoor living space, terrace, oversized infinity pool, grill and an outdoor pool table, as well as included butler service.

The Oceanfront Paradise Studio will be one of the room categories at the new resort.

Guests will have access to nine food-and beverage-venues, including outposts of signature Margaritaville concepts like JWB Steakhouse, Five O’Clock Somewhere Bar and LandShark Brewery & Grill, with the latter serving up lager brewed on-site.

Other available amenities will be nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, a St. Somewhere Spa, a 2,000-square-foot Fins Up! Fitness Center, three swimming pools and two pickleball courts.

Bookings for the Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya are currently open, with those who book by July 31 granted access to discounted room rates starting at $220 per person per night for travel between Jan. 3, 2023 and Dec. 23, 2023.

Karisma and Margaritaville rolled out the Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma brand concept, billed as a luxury all-inclusive offering, in 2019.
