The History Channel brands guided tours: Travel Weekly
The History Channel is partnering with an educational-travel company to launch guided tours.
History Travel will debut in November 2022 in the U.S. and Europe for a series of eight tours covering world wars, art and cultural movements, national parks, and notable figures and families.
Washington, D.C.-based Academic Travel Abroad created the tours and will manage them. Guests will be led by expert historians and local guides.
Jazz in New Orleans will be the inaugural History Travel tour, departing on Nov. 14. The four-night tour will take guests on a musical journey through the Big Easy’s jazz history, complete with walking tours, cooking demonstrations, museum visits and a meet-up with Grammy award-winning musician Kevin Ray Clark. Accommodations are at the Wyndham New Orleans — French Quarter.
The Jazz in New Orleans tour will be hosted by the American Jazz Museum’s director of collections and cultural affairs, Dina M. Bennett.
The tour price is $2,995 per person. Some meals are included. Maximum number of guests is 25.
Other tours scheduled to depart later this year and in early 2023 will focus on Pearl Harbor, Yellowstone National Park, the Medici family in Florence, the life of Winston Churchill, the battle of Gettysburg, World War I and ancient Greece.
History Travel tours are commissionable.
