Man fakes proposal on flight to get free booze and the crew even serenaded them

A couple were showered with free “bottomless” champagne and celebrated by staff on an airline after a bloke faked a proposal on the plane.

Roman Romero decided to get down on one knee in front of a cabin full of other passengers and his delighted “partner” – apparently named Lisa.

However, it turns out the woman was actually just a good mate who was in on his prank proposal.

In a video, Roman stood up at the end of the aisle and began speaking to Lisa.

Two glasses of Champagne were brought to her seat by beaming staff members, reports the Mirror.

"Two and a half years ago Lisa and I met on the airplane flying to New York City, every moment since then has been absolutely magical," he says.

"You're the most beautiful woman I know, inside and out, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Lisa, will you marry me?"

Roman crouched down onto one knee and a giggling Lisa said: "What? Yes" prompting the cabin and crew to burst into applause.

The video switches to a flight attendant playing the ukulele while his fellow members of staff sing a romantic song.

One worker got teary at the sweet “proposal”.

In the description of the video Roman said that he pulled the stunt "to get bottomless champagne for free".

Plenty of people have faked a recent engagement or said they’re going on their honeymoon to try and get an upgrade or some freebies on board.

It’s a trick as old as plane travel itself.

However, Roman went that extra step further to bag the goodies.

The video racked up over 19million views and plenty of likes.

In the comments one person said: “Y’all are wrong for making the flight attendant cry.”

Another laughed: “I just KNOW the pilot was like omg this is exactly why I keep my uke with me at ALL times.”

A third noted: “They went the whole mile, this feels wrong.”

Another said: “Imaging being the flight attendant watching this video.”

Do you think Roman’s trick was clever or wrong? Tell us in the comments…
