Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan often shared her holiday tips on her lifestyle blog, The Tig. The Duchess travelled a lot while she worked as an actress.
Although Meghan visited many luxury destinations, some of her favourite spots are surprisingly affordable.
She shared some of her favourite moments from a trip to the stunning island of Hydra in Greece.
Meghan said: “There is something wholly cathartic about being able to turn it all off – to sunbathe with no one watching, swim in the briny Mediterranean Sea, eat copious amounts of Greek salads and fried red mullets, and toast to the day.”
Hydra is one of Greece’s Saronic Islands and is located in the Aegean Sea. In ancient times the island was celebrated for its natural springs.
Meghan continued: “While most would qualify Hydra as a spot for a day trip, there are others like, Leonard Cohen, whom have made it home.
“The pace of life, local-schmocal vibe, and reality that much like the 80’s sitcom, Cheers, everyone knows your name, all make it the perfect contrast to our endlessly busy lives.”
The singer Leonard Cohen lived on Hydra for seven years during the 1960s and continued to visit throughout his life.
Other celebrities including John Lennon, the Rolling Stones and Rex Harrison visited Hydra during the 60s.
The Duchess said she loved how there wasn’t a lot to do in Hydra and took the time to relax and enjoy herself.
She said: “You can stroll around the town centre or dip into small tavernas for tzatziki and ouzo.
“Take a swim, then a nap, hike back to your hotel or apartment, rinse and repeat.”
Greek food is one of Europe’s best cuisines and as Meghan said, Hydra is the perfect spot to enjoy it.
Meghan even recommended that people visit Hydra as part of a larger trip to the Greek capital, Athens.
She said: “With Hydra being such a quick hop, skip and jump from Athens, it’s a perfect weekend getaway.
“Especially when you’ve got something to quietly, beautifully and peacefully celebrate.”
British tourists can fly to Athens from the UK then catch a short ferry from Piraeus port to Hydra.

Hydra is known as a fantastic destination for families with safe waters perfect for children to paddle in.
Although temperatures drop in Hydra in the winter, tourists will still enjoy an average of 19 degrees in November.
The gorgeous island could be the perfect autumn getaway for tourists looking for a slice of Royal luxury.
