New magical Disney Wish cruise features epic water ride and adults-only areas

We all know just how magical Disney theme parks can be, now imagine it at sea…

Disney has shared a first look inside its new cruise ship Disney Wish – and it's everything you could ever dream of.

There's everything from a Frozen-themed restaurant, a Marvel-inspired immersive dining and even a Star Wars cocktail lounge.

The beloved Minnie Mouse will also be the ship's Captain, complete with her iconic image and bow.

You won't have to wait too long to check out this cruise as it make its debut in summer 2022 with bookings opening on May 27, 2021.

Until now Disney has kept it quiet about the details, but now it has revealed what families could expect, reports Mirror.

Here's everything on offer – from entertainment to itineraries.

The entertainment

Classic entertainment will include live shows to character appearances from Mickey and Minnie, as well as the Disney princesses.

One of the biggest highlights is Disney's first ever attraction at sea – The Aquamouse.

Guests can enjoy Mickey and Minnie who have launched an excursions company and want to take you on a trip to Mermaid Lagoon.

The water ride will span 760ft of the upper deck and will include a moment where families can take in the views of the ocean.

Other highlights include the Mickey-inspired decor, a number of different pools and a new Toy Story-themed splash zone for kids.

Let's not forget there will be Broadway-style shows such as Aladdin, firework shows at sea and cinemas too.

Adults-only areas

Disney's cruise will be family-friendly but there will be some adults-only areas, including a spa and upper deck with an infinity pool.

Star Wars fans can book the lounge with themed cocktails and screens offering "panoramic views" of the galaxy.

There will also be dining for adults with three options, all inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

This includes The Rose cocktail bar, Palo Steakhouse inspired by Cogsworth, and Enchante, a menu created by a Michelin-starred chef.

The cabins

All of the staterooms are inspired by Disney's iconic films and characters with most of the rooms featuring a view of the ocean.

There are lavish Royal suites with two-storey rooms to really make you feel like a prince or princess.

It will come with lavish interiors, a huge bedroom, a grand spiral staircase, dining areas and, of course, ocean views.

The food

Onboard the Disney Wish cruise there are a variety of places to eat, whether it's casual dining or couples wanting a date night.

There's a Frozen-themed restaurant with dishes inspired by Arendelle and you get to meet the characters, like Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

For those wanting a bit of action, there's a Marvel "dining adventure" which Disney claims will be interactive.

And finally for the Disney heritage fans, there will be a restaurant inspired by 1920s' Hollywood, in a nod to Walt Disney.

The itineraries

Disney Wish will sail on a maiden voyage from Florida, US, to the Bahamas on June 9, 2022.

The season will include three and four-night cruises to the Bahamas including a trip to Disney's private island Castaway Cay.

There isn't much information on the itineraries just yet but bookings will be opening on May 27, 2021.
