Join This 'Bachelor' Couple in Finding New Ways to Use Your Suitcase While Dreaming About Future Travel
With travel restrictions still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it's not too late to get creative with how you channel your wanderlust at home.
Luckily, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and Lauren Burnham Luyendyk, who met during ABC's 2018 season of The Bachelor, have teamed up with Booking.com for a #SuitcaseSwap to offer new uses for those bags that have been stowed away during the pandemic.
The couple, who is expecting twins in July, kicked off the campaign today with two new suitcase functions, both focused on their one-year-old daughter, Alessi Ren. Arie took a teal suitcase and pitched a tent over it for a little indoor camping adventure for Alessi, complete with twinkling stars in the form of string lights. Meanwhile, Lauren used an old-fashioned briefcase-like style and transformed it into a dollhouse with a retro bathroom, kitchen, crib, and even bunk beds (perhaps for her future twin siblings?).
Other influencers and familiar names will also be taking part in the #SuitcaseSwap, including Bachelor in Paradise couple Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour.
"[Since] we've all been safely sticking close to home and not using our suitcases, [we] wanted to make sure they weren't just sitting around gathering dust," a spokesperson for Booking.com said in a statement to Travel Leisure. Other ideas from the company include a pet bed, bar cart, and urban garden. "There are so many creative ways you can make sure your suitcase still gets a little love until it's safe to travel again."
Folks are invited to share their own #SuitcaseSwap images on Instagram, and can tag Arie, Lauren, and Booking.com for a chance to be reposted on their Stories.
Travel has long been part of the couple's relationship, as they spent time in Machu Picchu on the reality show and have also shared photos from their romantic getaways to Barcelona and Iceland.
