Brits told to avoid lying suitcases down when packing for holidays

Most of us tend to pack in similar ways whether you're a last minute stuffer or a think-ahead planner.

Some might roll their clothes while others use packing cubes, but generally we end up with a suitcase stuffed to the gills and worry about it being overweight either way.

And, almost 100% of us would say that we pack out suitcase by laying it flat on the bed or floor no matter our other tactics.

But, it turns out that some frequent flyers think that the public has been packing their bags all wrong this whole time, reports the Mirror.

A TikTok user has left people floored after claiming everyone has been packing their suitcases completely wrong this 'whole time'.

Taking to the popular video-streaming service, the TikToker – who boasts more than 2,400 followers on account @thecollectorskut – left people's jaws dropping by sharing the new game-changing method online.

Captioning the viral video, which has exceeded a whopping 11.9 million views to date, they wrote: "People are just realising they've been packing suitcases wrong this 'whole time."

Demonstrating their new method first-hand, the savvy guy started by flipping his suitcase upright rather than laying it out flat, which most people are used to.

While the technique sounds impossible, the method appeared to be rather helpful.

Standing the suitcase upright, the TikToker optimised space within the suitcase by piling the clothes on top of each other.

"How old were you when you found out how to pack your luggage?" the TikToker user questioned within the clip.

Since sharing, the popular video has raked in over 4,500 comments to date. However, it seemed that not everyone was convinced by the idea.

Taking to the comment section, one person wrote: "What?! That is genius! So I guess that means I was today years old when I learned this."

A second said: "Well this is great. Am I even brushing my teeth correctly? I question my whole life now. Lol."

A third person penned: "I did this it was perfectly packed I fit so much but when I got to the airport it weight more than what it supposed to."

On the other hand, a different user wrote: "Definitely the wrong way to pack."

Another added: "You could literally do the same thing with the luggage laying flat…"
