‘I got revenge on an entitled couple that tried to steal my fist-class seat’

A man has shared his hilarious encounter with an ‘entitled power couple’ who tried to steal his first-class plane seat.

He had booked seat 1A for both of his flights and was thrilled about it. However, on his second flight, he ran into trouble with a couple who insisted that he was in their seat.

He shared his story on Reddit: “I had the seat 1A booked on both of my flights. I got a deal on first class and flew sitting in the first seat on the plane. I was thrilled. First flight, great seatmates. Second flight, problematic people.”

“I got on, got in my seat. A few minutes later a couple with the husband wearing a Berkley sweatshirt and jeans and a wife dressed in designer duds got on and started immediately insisting I was sitting in one of their assigned seats.

“They had tickets for 1B and 1C and insisted that 1A was the aisle seat. I told them they were wrong and pointed to the sign showing which seat was which.”

The couple then called over a flight attendant to resolve the issue, expecting the man to be moved from seat 1A. But things didn’t go as they planned.

He shared: “They started complaining to the flight attendants that I was ‘too fat’ and was crowding the husband. I may be fluffy, but I can fit in the seat easy on a regular seat much less these wide ones, and put on the seatbelt and pull it in some. I wasn’t touching his rarefied a**. The flight attendants moved them, not I, to right behind me.”

“I ended up with a full empty three oversized seats. I made sure to stretch out over all three and take the most glorious and petty power nap of all time. They moaned about how unfair it was, how I should never have been allowed to sit near them, I should have been moved, etc.”

The man speculated that he believed the couple may have been rude to some airline staff or flight attendants before they even got on the plane.

He wrote: “This is why it pays to be nice to others, even others you don’t particularly like much. They sat crowded in with someone else fluffy, ignored by the flight attendants while I lolled about napping. I take napping oh so seriously.”

“I think they must have exhibited that same very bad attitude going through customs because I passed them having their baggage pulled apart and inspected while a customs agent grilled them. Karma is real. I’m still laughing thinking about it.”

While most users praised the man for keeping his cool, others slammed the entitled couple for being so rude and inconsiderate toward others. One user said: “Sometimes revenge is best served quietly.”

Another user chimed in: “Pure gold! I love happy endings!” while a third user expressed: “People with bad attitudes are looking for a place to happen and pull their nasty attitude out and try to take over while blasting nasty attitude on everyone they meet.”

“Airlines have their number and increasingly deal with them by moving them away from their goal, the prized seat they didn’t book or pay for. When confiscation doesn’t go their way, complete meltdowns are usually getting them banned these days. At last, peace for the quiet innocent travellers!”
