Rent an entire 12th Century castle with tower & pool in Portugal for £42pp

If you’re looking for the holiday of a lifetime for a large group then you might be in luck – as this stunning location will blow your socks off (and sandals on).

Holidaymakers can now rent an entire castle in sunny Portugal for just £42 per person per night.

The royal abode has 12 bedrooms so you can host a huge group of friends or family and it has a private pool for days when you want to lounge around in the sunshine.

Santa Marta de Portuzelo Castle sleeps 16 people and has a stunning 4.2 acre garden with lush trees and greenery.

You access the gardens via a secret tunnel and then can see the watchtower and 16th century fountain on the grounds.

The castle dates back to the 12th century and is a pretty huge 21,528sqft, reports the Sun.

It’s set over two floors with a tower that makes it the perfect Instagram-worthy location or a dream for Prince and Princess loving kids!

Nine of the 12 castle bedrooms are available to guests and all come with an en-suite bathroom.

Two of the rooms also come with a fireplace so you can stay warm when the evenings turn chilly.

There are three living areas, two dining rooms, a big kitchen and even a chapel.

The size of the property means even a large group of guests will have plenty of space to spread out in.

And, that’s before we even get to the views on offer at this dream stay.

From the first floor the Lima River is visible nearby and the Atlantic Ocean can be spotted in the distance.

Luckily, the castle isn’t in the middle of nowhere – it’s just 40 minutes from Porto meaning it’s easy to head into the city for sightseeing.

You can also drive just 15 minutes to the beach and walk to a number of restaurants and bars.

The castle is available to rent on Airbnb where you’ll get access to the whole house bar three bedrooms, the chapel and the tower (those are private access).

It costs from £671 per night meaning 16 people will pay just £42 each per night.

You should also note that pets are allowed, but there is a three night minimum stay.
